Our Focus Areas
Our commitment to build a digital government
When it comes to building Singapore’s digital government, GovTech’s focus areas include:
-
Ensuring that government services are easy to access and use for Singaporeans
-
Improving the workplace experience and productivity of public officers
-
Uplifting digital capabilities to enable bolder transformation
-
Strengthening enablers for agencies to leverage digital technology
Diversity and Inclusion
GovTech creates products and services for every citizen — that includes vulnerable communities such as the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Many of our products have strong accessibility features, like enabling high contrast for legibility challenges on Singpass, and the inclusion of VoiceOver and Voice Control features for the visually and/or physically handicapped on the SafeEntry app.
GovTech is also committed to developing tech that empowers vulnerable communities.
Digital4Good
Follow Inside GovTech on Facebook for more updates!
Since 2019, Digital4Good has empowered underprivileged children/youth and seniors by increasing their digital literacy through programming and more.
One of its efforts involve GovTech's UX designers working with the social enterprise Hatch to host a career advisory session, sharing what it means to be in the UX space.
A11y Team (accessibility enabling team)
This team was formed to design inclusive government services based on the unique experiences of persons with disabilities (PwDs) and seniors.

GovTech x The Purple Parade
We invited The Purple Parade, Singapore’s movement for inclusion, to share how they celebrate all abilities as we raised funds for their cause.
Women in GovTech
As the lead technology agency in the public service, GovTech strives to foster an inclusive workplace by also supporting women in tech through a myriad of women-focused initiatives.
One of these initiatives include our Employee Resource Group for Women to help us attract, develop and retain female talent. Beyond that, our Girls in Tech Summer Mentorship Programme is a three-month mentorship programme that aims to inspire and encourage young female talents to explore and pursue careers in technology.
Our efforts in Consumer Social Responsibility
At GovTech, we believe that it’s important to give back and contribute whenever we can. Our GovTechies regularly take part in consumer social responsibility (CSR) efforts like the annual Hair for Hope (HfH).
We recently collaborated with Children's Cancer Foundation to organise a HfH event at GovTech's main office, where 47 brave GovTechies made a bald statement by shaving their heads for Hair for Hope 2024.
Sustainability at the core of GovTech
We believe that sustainability should influence everything that we do.
This is why we have adopted a Sustainability Framework with 3 key pillars — Sustainable Organisation, Sustainable Information and Communications Technology & Smart Systems (ICT&SS) and Digital Innovation for Sustainability.
With these pillars, GovTech can drive sustainable digitalisation practices to support the Singapore Green Plan 2030 goals and achieve net zero emissions by 2045.
