Frequently Asked Questions
Can I join the hackathon virtually?
No, this is a Physical Hackathon. All participants should be residing in Singapore and must be present throughout the entire hackathon on the event date.
I do not have any technical background, can I join the hackathon?
No, the hackathon is exclusively for developers who will create an application using the latest OpenAI Realtime API and o1 reasoning model.
What are key timelines to note?

Registration period: 5 Nov 2024 to 12 Nov 2024, 2359 hours (or first 250 submissions)

Notification of successful applicants: 15 Nov 2024

Hackathon Event: 22 Nov 2024, 0830 to 1700hrs

I do not have a team, can I still register for the hackathon?
You may register as an individual, and if shortlisted, the organiser will group you with other successful registrants to form a team.
How many members can we have in a team?
Teams can have up to 5 members. For teams with less than 5 members, the organiser may add successful individual registrants to your team.
Can we do any pre-preparation before the hackathon?
No, participants are expected to start hacking on the event day.
What are the prizes?
Prizes for the top 3 winning teams are as follows:
1st Place
USD 25,000 worth of OpenAI API Credits
2nd Place
USD 15,000 worth of OpenAI API Credits
3rd Place
USD 10,000 worth of OpenAI API Credits
Prizes won are non-exchangeable or refundable.
What do I have to bring for the hackathon?
If shortlisted, all participants are expected to bring their own problem statement or use case. Additionally, bring your own device(s) and accessories like chargers.
What will be provided for the hackathon participants?
We'll supply the essentials:
